Rain and more rain.

Rain  Rain Go Away!!!!!!  I think we have had rain almost every day for a month and a half.
The mountains are getting alot of flooding now. Mudslides,bridges out and sinkholes.Storms and way too much rain. I am so ready for better weather.

Starting Preschool.

Little Boo starts preschool this coming Monday.I think he is really excited.I can't believe that he is old enough for school.Where did the years go?

Christmas shopping. Yes I said Christmas shopping:)

Every year I am out buy last minute Christmas gifts because I am one of those people who wait until the last minute.Every year I say that I am going to start earlier the next year. Well this year I have done it!!!  Yay!!!  There are lots of end of the season sales going on now.I've stocked up on t shirts and other things that can be layered and worn all year. I have also won some pretty cool things that I am saving to give as Christmas gifts. It feels really good to get a early start.I won't be as stressed this year.All I can say is yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe it's December already. Where did this year go???
The weather has been nice here in Shelby NC. We have our Christmas tree up and our outside decorations set up.Everything is really pretty but I can't seem to get into the Christmas spirit. Maybe the weather is "to" nice.With daily highs in the 60's and sometimes 70"s it feels more like Spring than almost Winter. A good snow would be nice but it doesn't look likely anytime soon.

The End Of October

I can not believe that it is almost November. Where did this year go? A few weeks ago I was complaining about the heat,and now I am complaining about the cold.We went from one extreme to another. I like to be eased into the cooler weather,not slapped in the face with it:) At least we don't have snow here. Snow storms have hit other states and it looks like kids will be trick or treating in the snow,that is if they can get out.
Tomorrow is Halloween.It is supposed to be cool with some rain possible.Hopefully it won't be to bad and the kids can have fun trick or treating.
I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween:)

Happy Summer Everyone.

It is so hot today. It is 96* but it feels like 107* with the heat index. We may get some evening storms. We could use the rain but I could do without the strong winds and thunder and lightning.

We can smell the smoke from the fires that are burning on the coast. The fire in Dare county has been burning since May. There is also a fire burning in Pender county.My son who lives in Raleigh called me to see if I knew where the smoke was coming from.I told him about the fires and then got online and looked at DOT cams in Raleigh. You could hardly see the road from some of the webcams. It looked like heavy fog. I hope they get some rain soon.They really need a break.

This has been a bad weather year for a lot of people. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who needs help.

Spring Planting.

I love Spring. Not only because it's good bye to cold weather but because it's time to plant my garden.We are doing it a little bit bigger this year. I have 6 different types of tomatoes,3 kinds of squash,2 kinds of cucumbers,3 kinds of peppers plus a few other things. I am planting 3 kinds of gourds just for fun.Birdhouse gourds,egg gourds and luffa gourds.

I am still trying to decide what flowers I want to plant.So far I have snapdragons,zinnias,carnations,daisies,marigolds and roses.

My grapevines that we planted last year are doing really well. Our peach tree has a few peaches.I think the frost killed some of them earlier this year.

I hope to add some pictures on her soon.

Easter

Happy Easter everyone.

This weekend is going to be really nice here in Shelby. I think the weatherman said we may hit 90* tomorrow on Easter Sunday.It will be very nice for sunrise services.

The Spring flowers are all blooming.The birds are singing.The grass is green. I love it.

Spring is not far behind.

The last couple of days have been very nice. We tied a record set in the 1890's. Our high temperature was 78*. It was so nice to have the windows and doors open to let in fresh air.Out with the stale and in with the new:)

The grass is getting green.I have found a few dandelions in the yard and my daffodils are coming up. I love it.

It is still Winter but I'm hoping that we will have a early Spring and Winter won't turn around and bite us one more time.

It has been a harsh and crazy Winter and I am really excited to welcome Spring:)

Where did 2010 go.I can't believe how fast the time goes.I have so many goals for this year and am really going to work hard at making them happen.

Happy Holiday's Everyone

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. We have snow for Christmas.

I LOVE a white Christmas:)

The snow started about 5 o'clock yesterday so it wasn't as nice as waking up to snow on Christmas morning.We kept watching and waiting for it but it was worth it.We have 6 inches here.I hope to add pictures later. It's beautiful. Our dog Lucky doesn't think so:)

Travel is really bad because of all the snow and ice so please be safe on this busiest travel day of the year.
